Our Hearts of Palm
About 15 years ago, our president, H. Malarkey Wall, decided to import premium hearts of palm from Costa Rica, a country famous for plantation-grown, edible palm....
We still import two kinds of these delicacies, whole & marinated.
Our whole hearts are by far the best quality coming into the U. S. in that we only import "Extra Fine, 8 to 12 sticks/jar."
Both packages Ýunder the Old Mill Labelß are 14 ounce glass jars,12 jars to the case.
They are shipped to up-scale markets in many states and, while more expensive than the competition, are far better.
Often, the competition sells their hearts in cans. In cans, the customer cannot see what he's buying and usually gets a gristly vegetable from an inferior part of the palm's heart.
